FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Friday, Sep 16th 2011
Two young entrepreneurs were invited by The Irish Times to launch their new debs planning software at the Higher Options event held in the RDS. Event manager Keelin Harty and software developer Iarfhlaith Kelly introduced debs.ie to the 25,000 students and teachers that attended the three day expo between Wednesday 14th and Friday 16th September 2011.
DUBLIN, IRELAND (16th September 2011) - Software developed and operated from Ireland, debs.ie, was unveiled to 25,000 secondary school students at The Irish Times, Higher Options expo in the RDS this week. debs.ie is an event booking and management tool that helps debs committees to plan and organise their annual debutant ball. The software allows debs committees to book all the services they need for their debs ball and sell tickets online without any previous event management experience, industry contacts, or hassle.
Debs committees typically organise their debs ball without access to impartial information on the service providers that cater for this market and without safe guards for the collection of cash payments for tickets. debs.ie provides a complete and impartial listing of services to ensure that debs committees get the best service available at the fairest price. The software also allows the debs committees to collect deposits and payments for tickets from their classmates.
Debs committees are granted the ability to view and compare venues and other services, request viewings, check availability, and place bookings online. Posters can be downloaded and email invitations sent to promote the debs ball to the student body. The simple online payment section allows students to buy their tickets safely whilst ensuring that accurate records and statistics are available for the debs committee.
The Irish Times Higher Options expo provided the perfect place to launch debs.ie. Over 25,000 6th year students, and their teachers, attended the event allowing debs.ie team to introduce the new software to thousands of debs committee members. "Higher Options has been an unbelievable platform for us to launch debs.ie. It's perfect timing because they [6th year students] are getting their [debs] committees organised now and it's great to talk to them and show them the product." Keelin Harty, CEO, commented during the event. debs.ie was very warmly received with over 10% of the country's debs committees signing up in the first three days.
